Portland Attractions

Some wonderful Portland attractions are found amidst the downtown and waterfront, certainly worth exploring. 

The city is full of history, including the childhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Victoria Mansion, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The Portland Observatory is another wonderful attraction, as one of the nation’s Works Progress Administration (WPA) maritime signal towers along Casco Bay.  For family fun at other Portland attractions, make sure you enjoy the Children’s Museum and Theater of Maine as well as the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad for a historic journey.
